How do I create an account?

- Click "Get Started Free" on the homepage
- Enter your name, email, and company name
- Create a password
- Verify your email address
Once verified, you'll have immediate access to your dashboard and can start finding investors.
How does investor matching work?
Our AI-powered matching system analyzes your startup profile and compares it against our database of 15,000+ investors. We consider factors like:
- Industry and sector focus
- Investment stage preferences
- Geographic focus
- Check size and fund stage
- Past investment patterns
Each match includes a compatibility score and personalized intro templates.
Is OpenStars really free?
Yes! We offer a free forever tier that includes:
- 6 investor matches
- AI website analysis
- Email templates
- Community access
You can upgrade anytime to unlock unlimited matches and premium features.
Investor Matching
How accurate is the investor matching?
Our matching algorithm has a 93% relevance rate, meaning 93% of founders report that their matches were highly relevant to their fundraising needs. We continuously improve our AI based on feedback and outcomes.
Can I filter investors by specific criteria?
Yes! You can filter by:
- Investment stage (Pre-seed, Seed, Series A, etc.)
- Industry/sector
- Location
- Check size
- Fund type (VC, Angel, Family Office)
How do I request an introduction?
From any investor profile:
- Click "Request Intro"
- Review the AI-generated intro template
- Customize if needed
- Send directly or copy to your email
Pro tip: Personalized intros get 2x higher response rates.
Account & Profile
How do I update my company information?
Go to Settings → Account and update your company details. Changes will immediately improve your investor matches.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This action is permanent and will remove all your data. Contact support if you need a data export first.
How do I reset my password?
Click "Forgot Password" on the login screen and enter your email. You'll receive a password reset link within minutes.
Billing & Plans
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards through Stripe, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
How do I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Go to Dashboard → Billing and select your desired plan. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.
Can I get a refund?
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for new subscriptions. If you haven't used any paid features, contact founders@openstars.ai for a full refund.
Do you offer discounts for startups?
Yes! We offer special pricing for YC companies, and discounts for annual subscriptions. Contact founders@openstars.ai for details.

How do I connect Slack?
Go to Dashboard → Integrations → Slack → Connect. You'll be redirected to Slack to authorize the connection. Choose which channel should receive notifications.
Troubleshooting
I'm not receiving email notifications
- Check your spam/junk folder
- Add founders@openstars.ai to your contacts
- Verify your email is correct in Settings
- Check notification preferences are enabled
